Riding

One of my most favorite things in the whole world is being on the back of a motorcycle. All of my troubles and problems seem to be forgotten for just a little while.

Last night I listened to the music on the radio, I listen to the wind go past me. I listened to the roar of the Harley that I was sitting on. I hear other cars go by.

I was watching all the trees speed by. I can see the spring buds on most of the trees. I try to recognize the different trees like spruce, birch, pine, evergreen, Willow, etc. I look at all the farm houses. I see the people out in their yards doing various things. I see the farmers having old cars way back in their property. Cars that will never be dug out and will just rot there. I passed some swampy areas and I even saw two trees that beavers had bitten on but the trees hadn’t fallen yet.

I feel the wind in my face, I feel the sun on my skin. I feel a vibration of the bike blow me.

I relax and just free my mind. I don’t even look at the road up ahead of me. I just know that there is a turn when the driver starts leaning.

I got to go for 2 hours last night. That’s about all that I can stand on that bike. He doesn’t have his regular tour pack seat on. By the time I was done I was dizzy and in so much pain that I felt nauseous. It will take me 2 to 3 days in bed to recover just from a 2-hour ride. But it’s totally worth it. No regrets.
